Future Eden

The "Villa H₂O," primarily designed by designer Shen Shaohua, has created a future living space brimming with vitality and an artistic aura for the homeowner. Beneath the diverse and tech-savvy exterior of the space, there are ubiquitous sensations of fluidity and distinct spatial characteristics. Together, they weave a unique ambiance, ultimately transforming this place into an artistic haven with a strong sense of romance.

This is a villa located in Hangzhou, China. Its location nestled against mountains and beside water allows the building to be bathed in abundant natural light. Through ingenious craftsmanship, the designer has made the undulating sense of flow upon entering the house the dominant visual theme. The entrance hall sets the tone with a blend of technology and art, incorporating clever touches such as the fusion of naked-eye 3D art and the concept of "a door within a door, a scene within a scene." This adds an element of mystery and privacy to what would otherwise be a straightforward front-to-back relationship, and further enables the space to meet the needs of creating various atmospheric settings through constant transformation.

As one moves forward along the undulating points and lines, the concept of water links different spaces together. In the study, a touch of red in the dining area that echoes the living room anchors the visual focus. Set against the backdrop of a predominantly white color scheme, this red stands out even more prominently, allowing the space to freely switch between the softness and firmness of water. The ceiling, resembling waves of water rippling outward in layers, combines with oval hollowed-out geometric shapes to create a rhythmic sense of undulation, presenting another form of rhythm and visual perception.

The design of the master bedroom dressing area creates a scene where the sky, waters, mountains, and lakes all blend into a pristine white hue. Though seemingly ordinary, it boldly employs space and geometric structures. The design follows the forms and flows, exuding a romantic charm that is close to nature within the space. It pays tribute to the deconstructivist master, Zaha Hadid, through the integration of technology and art!
